Rachael

Collaboration with my friend Rachael-- I sketched out the pencils, then she went after it with colored pencils and made several alterations, then I did her hair with colored pencils and used markers on the wings. It's supposed to be Rachael as a superhero.

Batman on a Gargoyle II

It was a sad day the other day. So sad that Batman was playing Jeff Buckley songs on top of a building.

Watchmen

Rorschach and Ozymandias are ordering drinks. I like the way I suggested a wing on Nite Owl's mask.

Flip the Bird

Prelim for a painting. No reference, but I was thinking of a poster I had seen near my friend Aaralyn's apartment. It started out trying to be a Cardinal. . .

Rameses and Waterworld

I really had fun with this one. The trick will be knowing when to say when on adding embellishment to the curves.

Costner from Waterworld. Zipporah on the backgrounds, Fantastic on the Costner.

Darrel Lee Band Logo ideas

The Tower Tarot Card

My friend Aaralyn asked me to design a tarot card for her deck that she's putting together. She chose The Tower, which traditionally is just a tower that's on fire and falling down. I thought to myself, "What would be bringing the tower down?"

Kyle Strahm's Clockwork Creature

My friend Kyle Strahm wrote and illustrated the adventures of The Clockwork Creature. Here's my version. Go read Kyle's excellent comic at http://clockworkcreature.ambrosiapublishing.com/

Night Spidey

I could also call this piece "Lessons from Mignola." I'm really pleased with what happened when I blacked out the lines that defined his neck.
